Carole Brooks, our dear Wife, Mum, and friend sadly passed away on the 22nd of October 2023 with her husband of 53 years Dave as always, by her side.

Carole was born in February 1946 in Grays, Essex to David (Dave) and Constance (Connie) Aitken. Carole grew up in Grays and Canvey Island with her sister Judy, she lived and worked for most of her life in Essex. Carole married the love of her life Dave at St. Nicholas church on Canvey Island in 1970, giving birth to her children Craig in 1972 and JoJo in 1975. They bought their first of 2 houses on Canvey Island, before finally settling in Rayleigh where they happily lived for many years with their beloved dog Suzie.

Carole had always loved everything to do with the Sea, whether she was on the water or beside it she was always happy. She loved sitting by a river (especially the Thames where her father had worked) or watching the boats go by with a pair of binoculars close to hand. So, we thought it befitting to choose the RNLI, a charity that protects and saves those in trouble on the sea as an alternative to floral tributes to honour Carole.

  • Thank you Nathan. Carole really enjoyed seeing you at Craig and Zachs wedding, and it reminded her of Jo and Baz's wedding. your always upbeat sense of humour always made her laugh. Thank you.

Thoughts and Love are with Dave, Jo and Baz. Carole was a lovely lady and she was always a pleasure to chat to when I met her at family gatherings and parties. It was great to see her at Craig and Zac's wedding and I especially enjoyed spinning her around on the dance floor and making her laugh. Much love to you all - Nathan 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Dear Carol I remember all the lovely conversations we had over endless cups of tea. Having lots in common, having two children each that were in the same classes all through school. Rest in peace my lovely! ❤️
