Our hearts break for Bernie’s dear family…what a wonderful man he was, for the short time we knew him. He would always message me to say I had left my garage door open, haha! He also helped me with a snake outside our house once. Also, the jokes he would send in our neighbourhood WhatsApp chat were funny. Such a caring neighbour. My Nan also knew Bernie from bowls and was delighted to find out we had coincidentally moved opposite him! She popped in a couple times to see Bernie and Linda after seeing us, which was convenient for her!
