Terence Knappett (Passed away 8 Sep 2023)

In loving memory of Terence (Terry) James Arnold Knappett who sadly passed away 8th September 2023.

Terry was born 15th April 1941 and in June 1965 married Janet (Jan) Elizabeth Powell. His first child Robert (Rob) James was born in December 1968 followed by twins, Jane Louise and Andrew Terence in June 1972.

Terry was a dedicated family man who he loved unconditionally and he was always there when you needed him. He was not only a proud husband and dad to his 3 children but to his 6 grandchildren, Millie, Ellie, Riley, Mia, Kate and Ethan all of which adored him and loved spending time with him.

Terry was hardworking and always provided for his family, he started his working life as a port officer for the AA at the docks and followed his interest of transport and became a coach driver (Coliseum Coaches) in his earlier years and latter years bus driving in Southampton for (Southampton City Bus) and Uni Link.

Terry’s hobbies was his love of transport. He became one of the founders of Southampton & District Transport Heritage Trust and in his retirement he would often drive the old buses and attend events/bus rallies with his other group members.

Terry enjoyed seeing and spending time with his family and friends for which he often shared a “little tipple” of the Gin and shared many holidays with.

He had a great sense of humour no matter what, he would always make everyone laugh/smile with his jokes. He had a warm, kind and caring personality and the best a person could be.

Terry’s kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. R.I.P
