In loving memory of Janice Warner who sadly passed away on 23rd October 2015

Janice was born in Uxbridge on 22nd July 1938 to Leslie and Ellen Pegg, known as Son and Nell. When her father registered her birth he told the registrar the wrong date and spelt her second name the same way as his, so her birth is registered as being on 23rd July 1938. She went to school at Mellor Lane, Primary School. She worked for Kraft Foods where she met her future husband Jim. They married in 1957 and were married for 58 years but known each other for 60 years. She always wanted to get to their 60th wedding anniversary and was disappointed that she wasn’t going to make it by being 16 months short. In 1959 she gave birth to Karen. Jim was already in the RAF by then, when he went to sign up for his national service but did so for 12 years instead much to the dismay of Janice. In 1960 Jim was posted to Cyprus where Jan and Karen followed him when Karen was 9 months old. They were there for 2.5 years and then moved back to England for a couple of years until 1965 when they were then posted to Germany. In 1967 John was born in Wegberg Germany. In 1968 they returned back to England where Jim finished his service at RAF Northolt. They then decided to move to Bletchley in Buckinghamshire where they bought a brand new Wimpey house located on the River’s Estate but because the new development of Milton Keynes and the rising price of mortgage dad came home one day and asked Jan if she wanted to sell up and build a bungalow which she readily agreed so the next day she phoned around and found a plot in Halton Holegate in Lincolnshire which they viewed at the weekend along with Jan’s parents. There were two plots side by side for sale and they loved the peace and quiet of the place so much that they immediately decided to buy one of them, her parents then decided to buy the other one. In 1974 just before Christmas they moved to Halton Holegate to start their new venture. The families lived in 2 caravans on the plot for two years whilst building their bungalows brick by brick. All the work was done by them while Jim and Son was also in full time employment. Jan sorted through all 22,000 bricks and dusted each and every one of them finding only 4 with a perfect face which are now up in the loft and were never used. They made their home there for 40 years and this is where Jan ended her days in the comfort of her own home. She had many dogs most of which were poodles and loved them dearly, she lost the last one earlier this year and was very sad about this and missed her loads. She was a keen dressmaker and knitter in her time and loved watching her soaps. She was a homemaker and loved her family dearly. Jan will of course be sadly missed by all her family, young and old by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and all extended family of spouses and partners. RIP beautiful, brave lady.
