Our Mum
Born 1930 in Ashton when times were hard. Her dad was a milkman and she had 2 older sisters. Dad was from the next village Roade and that was the start of us! Mum worked as a seamstress making high end sample dresses for London exhibitions. She went on to make many wedding dress's, even for the owners of the factory where dad worked. Many a car trip was with mum finishing the needle work in the front seat as we were off to deliver the dresses. Mum later was a dinner lady at Roade school.
Once dad retired they moved over to Beccles in Suffolk (obviously to be nearer to me!) and this became their second chapter and they loved it there. Once Dad passed Mum was lost and it took her 2 years to readjust. Then came the 3rd chapter moving to Cornwall. It gave her a new life, until her body started to fade. She fought the battles but the final one, gasping for oxygen was one step too far. 4 weeks short of her 93rd year I think mum would say I've had a great life but now its time. Mum has received fantastic care and support of which as a family we cant thank everyone enough. Also Mum would not want all this fuss but she would love it really with a high pitch squeak and a giggle.
That's our Mum.
