I had the privilege of having Hazel and Stan as my godparents, as they were good family friends of my parents, Wendy and Stewart Tucker. Hazel and Stan often holidayed in their caravan in the South of France, kindly gifting use of their caravan for mum and dad’s honeymoon.

And though we moved to the East Midlands from Walderslade in 1992, still kept in touch via phone and Christmas cards. Sadly we lost my mum in 2017.
I always remember Hazel encouraging me and my brother John to have a curious mind and have fond memories laughing, reading and spending time with Hazel and Stan. Only recently learning of Hazel’s passing.
Our thoughts are with Julie, Jimmy and their families. Lindsay, John and Stewart Tucker

  • Thank you for your kind words and donation Lindsay. I apologise for not informing you about mum but I had no idea how to contact you. Yes we miss mum and I think of her and dad on a daily basis. She had such a wonderful and fulfilling life and touched many people. Xx

Hazel was a great friend to my Mum. They worked together at Fort Pitt school and remained good friends for many years. I always enjoyed spending time with her and Stan whilst I was visiting Mum.

So sorry to hear about Hazel's passing. She was a good friend to my mother, Dorothy Mitchell, who she worked with at Rainham Girls School. I remember Hazel at school as well (although she did not teach me). Both Hazel and Stan were very supportive of my Mum when my father passed.
I also remember being persuaded by Hazel to start selling Weekenders Clothes and had good fun with that.
Hazel was always good company and will be sorely missed.
It was a lovely send off for Hazel today.
Thinking of you all at this time.
