In loving memory of Jim Forrest, 70, from Hythe, Hampshire who passed away suddenly on 2nd September 2023 from a heart attack on the golf course.

Whilst Jim has left us far too soon, the impact he had on our lives will be felt for many years to come - a truly special and remarkable gentleman in so many ways. The most kind, genuine, clever soul who would have done anything for anyone - he had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humour will be sorely missed.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Diana, his two children, Selina and Richard and his grand pup Bailey.

We would invite you to share any photos, memories or stories you have of Jim.

A funeral service will be held in his honour - the details are shown above. Please confirm your attendance using the link below and subsequent email.

Thank you.

Bill and Maria Payne donated £30 in memory of Jim

God Bless you Jim, You were one of Lifes Good un's !
Rest peacefully
Love Bill and Maria xx

We still can’t believe that you’ve gone.

We will always treasure our fond memories of you which include; our welcome drinks hosted by you and Di when we moved in next door, you darting across the garden and scrambling into yours like James Bond at 7am one morning and you “supervising” our new fence construction.

We couldn’t have asked for a lovelier neighbour and friend. You are sorely missed.

Our love and condolences are extended to Di, Selina, Rich and of course Bailey.

With love,

Biz and Kerrie

Sending all my love to Di and the children ahead of the funeral service tomorrow. I am lucky enough to work with lovely Di - we used to start at the crack of dawn together, but dear Jim would always get up with Di and unfailingly send her off at the door with "I love you". Such a wonderful relationship!
Di you know I'm here for you always, I'm very grateful for you, and our friendship xxx

I’ll tell you
A better friend a man will not have
Jim was like a brother to me
Taken far too early from us
Everything we aspire to be
Ever listening, hearing and understanding
Seriously talented and totally committed to all he did
A proud father to Riche and Selina
And loving husband to Di
My biggest pride was him by my side
As a comrade with much in common
We spoke often of experiences far and wide
Rest now my mate
Your soft soul and tough handshake I will always miss
Your smile and our fun times will be forever cherished

Pete x

Words cannot express how devastated we all are at the sudden loss of Jim.

A golfing colleague for Pete who became a very special and dear family friend - one of life’s true gentlemen, learned, kind, caring, supportive and fun to be around - he will be sorely missed.

Di, Riche and Sabina - keeping you in our warmest thoughts as you navigate this difficult time on the loss of ‘your hero’ and wishing you hope and healing when you’re ready.

Pete, Joanne, Courtney, Adam, Adrian

and not forgetting Darcy who spent many hours cuddled up with Jim and going for long walks during our breaks away

xxxxxx

Feeling so guilty that can’t come to funeral next week, so least I can do is donate here… I know we didn’t go for a while, but when I go to The Brook next, it’ll never be the same!

I was devastated to hear the news of the passing of Jim. I really enjoyed his company on and off the golf course. A truly lovely man. My thoughts are with you family members and Craig and Pete who were so close to him. Taken to early but Jim left his mark on so many people, his memory will live on with lots of us for sure. RIP mate.
