I have known Steve and his lovely family for about 30 years. Steve as we all know has courageously battled with cancer for many years yet remained with a happy disposition, he had the ability to make others feel always welcome and took time to help others, especially as to charity work. Whenever I visited Littlecroft there were often others coming and going , collecting or dropping off something. Steve loved the human interaction and the comments made by many so far echo that. Steve was very generous and kind but also immensely fun and witty, and he was a super person to be about . I was especially touched by the comments of Brad and Dionne. His loss is significant but his legacy of love is even greater . Rest in peace now Steve , your enduring effect on others and through your lovely family will continue forever.

I have known Steve for 59 years, when he joined Bermondsey Sports Football Team as a 16 year old.
The team was based at Bermondsey Labour Party HQ and we played on Sunday mornings.
At the same time, I was playing for a team called Irving Sports on a Saturday afternoon which was based at Peckham Conservative Club.
Steve and several of the other players from Bermondsey joined Irving Sports and we played together for several years. Steve was one of the best players I had ever played with, and he was always a pleasure to have in the team. I became Club Manager at Irving Sports in the mid 60s, and Steve stayed with us until he joined Crockenhill, where he became not only a very good manager, but also a very good player.
Steve had a long career playing for various teams in the Kent league. He always told me I was his first football manager.
We went on to become lifelong friends, not only with each other, but also our families.
Our sons, Brad and Paul, have also become lifelong best friends.
My family will never forget Steve and his lovely family, and we wish him Eternal Peace.
Goodnight, and God Bless Wish.
Mick, Joan, Paul & Sophie xxx
