Kelly Roser donated £20 in memory of Edward

Dear Josephine, Pete and I were very glad to have met yourself and Eddie, such kind neighbours and made us feel so welcomed. We were both sadden by the news of Eddie passing away so suddenly, I will take forward his gardening tips with being a learner myself. Apology for not being able to attend Eddies funeral and the celebration of his life, best wishes always, Kelly & Peter.

Remembering Edward, such a kind and thoughtful person. A
a good neighbour to my Mum and always remembered my daughter Lauren’s bday, as she grew up. I’ve enjoyed many chats with him on the driveway, over the years. Rest in peace Ed and sincere condolences to Jo in your great loss. Love Pat and Lauren x

Deirdre Symonds donated in memory of Edward

Remembering Edward, a man who took great care of those he loved, and was generous and hospitable to his friends. He and Josephine were well suited in their enjoyment of quiet pleasures and their shared sense of humour. He took on life's challenges with a smile and a gentle joke while leaving an impression of inner strength, wisdom and steadiness. He was truly one of the best. Dear Josephine, I am so sorry for your loss.

Edward was kind and caring with a great enthusiasm for gardening and of course Fuchsias. I have fond memories of many childhood visits to the seaside, particularly Portchester Castle exploring around the rocks and seaweed. Edward always made sure we had a plentiful supply of food for the journey home and I always enjoyed his stories of visits to Ireland and the Isle is Wight Donkey Sanctuary. Rest in peace Edward, you will be greatly missed. Love Shelagh and Steve Ward

Edward was a loyal, sincere and generous friend over many decades, through the good times and the bad. He always arrived at ours bearing gifts of food, flowers and beers for Joe. We’ve shared many special times with him and Josephine - he was endlessly patient with all the Irish music, tales and craic. We’ll miss him dearly. May he rest in peace and rise in glory x

He did the best he could every day

It was a lucky day when a very good friend of mine introduced me to Edward 50 years ago. My friend said to snap him up quickly as he was a great cook, as I couldn’t even boil an egg. We had a lovely life together. Edward was always very kind and generous. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary on the 4th June this year and he never forgot a birthday or anniversary. Edward had a passion for flowers especially Fuchsia’s and very much enjoyed his involvement with the Fuchsia club, that was a very important part of his life. We always had immense joy and happiness during our annual trips to Portaferry. I will miss him always. Josephine
