Bill was a colleague of mine during our time with the National Rivers Authority. I was responsible, amongst other things, for licensing water abstraction, he for the water quality in the rivers. This had the potential to bring us into conflict but Bill always looked for the positive way forward. He was a lovely, down to earth man with a ready wit and I remember him fondly.

Uncle Bill was special. He was the greatest holiday companion, he helped me find my first car and was always on hand for advice. Also he had a memory better than an elephant for all his life’s adventures and was the most entertaining raconteur. Rest in peace xx

In memory of Bill to thank him for always remaining my friend, even though no longer my brother-in-law. I was very fond of him as he was special.
