In loving memory of Mark Lowthian, 63 of Stathern, Leicestershire.
Beloved husband of Ewa, sadly passed away on 27th July 2023 after a very short period of illness.
Mark spent his early years in Surrey and Uganda. He attended Ottershaw boarding school in Surrey, and formed many long lasting friendships from those days.
Mark gained two degrees initially in Sheffield, followed by MBA in Nottingham later on.
He spent his career working in social housing in many senior roles and was highly respected.
He married Ewa in 1993 and they spent 30 happy years together, living in Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire (and more recently part time in Dorset).
Mark had a passion for dogs and the outdoors (having had four pointers). He enjoyed walking, running, sailing and later on mountaineering, including the summit of Mont Blanc.
He leaves behind his wife Ewa and dog Darcey.
Donations would be welcome to Brainstrust.

We started as next door neighbours but became friends…..we shared a love of dogs, running and generally enjoying life! We missed you when you left and often reminisce about the things we did. Rest in peace Mark. Sending love to Ewa. Love Lynn and Steve xx
Fond memories of walking the dogs up Southover Bottom, with Mark calling ‘Darcey come!’ as she bounded away after a deer. And our last walk to Rivelaux Abbey on New Year’s Day, chatting about retirement. Much love.
One of life's good guys. Taken far to early. This was taken in happier times at Alan Reams wedding.

Photo taken circa 1966 in Uganda, Nkoma Secondary School with Mark's dad, Kathy, my brothers and sisters, plus other teachers'kids on campus. I am extreme right at the back in front of Kathy. I think Mark was in England that day and his mom took the photo
A life lived to the full. Taken too soon. We will always love you Mark x
Lots of memories, from when we first met Mark whilst he was visiting Ewa in the nurses homes to meeting up in Dorset for a walk by the harbour and beach at west bay some 30 years later He was always a kind hearted, generous man and will be dearly missed.

One of the few photos I have of Mark. Sitting in my back garden, eating cherries off the tree and sipping a gin and tonic. We laughed and chatted for hours. It was always effortless talking to Mark, I will miss him so much. R
