Billy Jackson passed away on Thursday 27th July 2023, aged 63.
He died at home, surrounded by his family, after a long illness and a long spell in hospital.
To everyone who knew him, Billy was a ‘loveable rogue’, he always had a cheeky smile, and loved nothing more than being cosy at home with his wife Kerry and his dogs, fags and whisky in hand. But at the same time he was likely to be on the phone ducking and diving-he always had a way of making money from a good deal!
Horse racing was one of Billy’s passions, and he and Kerry traveled the world enjoying their racing, but also just relaxing on some amazing holidays. He particularly loved the Far East, most recently China, but also Vietnam and Cambodia.
Closer to home Billy loved his Jack Russell terriers Skye and Bowmore, named after his favourite whiskies, taking them on caravanning holidays every year.
Billy is survived by his wife Kerry, son Andrew, daughter Lorna and Grandson Logan. He also leaves 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Since Billy came home on End of Life care, Ashgate Hospice have supported him and the family. Kerry, Andrew and Lorna would like to ask all family and friends to consider making a donation rather than sending or bringing flowers to the funeral. The Hospice team provided care for Billy and advice and moral support for the family, always there when needed. Against all the odds and expectations they helped Billy get out of his hospital bed and stand up-his huge smile and pride was amazing to see and they gave him hope and a reason to keep fighting. Details of how to donate can be found on this page.
Billy leaves a huge hole in our lives and our hearts which we will never get over. Please join us to say goodbye on 14th August-details of the funeral can be found on this page.
