Ian welcomed me into his family and his home and gave me his blessing to be married to his daughter Elizabeth. Ian and I socialised together playing golf for years and also pool, dominoes, cards and darts. We always had quite a close relationship as our interests were very similuar in some ways but also very different in others. He was always interested in my work and often asked about what I had been up to. I felt that Ian was one of the only people that was geniunely interested in what I did and it's not often I speak about my work.
It has made me so proud to have known Ian and to be part of his life. I will remember Ian and the good times (often drunken, granted) forever and by me, he will be sorely missed. RIP Ian Old Bean XXxx
