So sorry to learn of Peter's passing, our condolences go out to Vivienne and the family. We lost Dad to the effects of Parkinson's last autumn - it is such a cruel disease, thus we understand that this is a release. We remember, fondly, all those happy evenings at the Bowls club and other village events - Bowls really brought out the competitor in Peter. Dad would often recall his encounters with Peter at various cricket matches - always on the opposing teams, giving us all a chuckle.

Rest in peace Peter, your kindness, gentle sense of humour and decency will be remembered.

Sandra & Frank

Such a sad time for the whole family but lots of lovely memories you all have. Parkinson’s is a cruel disease. I was diagnosed at 47 but doing well after DBS surgery. Peter was diagnosed at a much later age and was stripped of his movement. I’m sure Peter has found eternal peace and had his life ending the way he demanded, you were a truly brave man Peter. RIP x

Peter...I'm sorry I didn't get to see you in the last period of your life but thank you for giving me the most important gift of all, your daughter Claire who I love dearly and have been married to for over 23 years now...I remember our wedding in Scotland watching you swatting the midges and getting soaked in the rain up in the mountains and boring me with the Cricket scores...lol...you gave your blessing for your wife Vivienne to move to Monmouth and we will keep an eye on her and make sure she has a happy life going forward!

See you on the 24th July Peter Maughan from your son in law Mac.
