In loving memory of Peter Howe who sadly passed away on 9th July 2023
My husbands life was full of love, joy, fun and laughter. He had a good life, enjoyed life and embraced it till the end. He was a very good, generous and loving husband who always puts his loved ones in the Center of his life. He was a good son who loved his parents Wesley and Betty and cared and looked after them till the end. He was very helpful when it comes to my sister Merlinda especially if she had hospital appointments as he would always push her wheelchair as I couldn’t lift it out from the car or even push her. He never fails to ring his daughter Loretta asking how her day was and always gets an update on the grandchildren be it Abigail, Scott, Michael or Robert.
He enjoyed playing outdoor bowls and belonged to Belfairs Bowls Club for the longest time and was honoured to be president and captain several years until he can no longer play. His life at the time centred on bowls, then arsenal then me third. I would joke about this but he always says, I’m wrong, I am number one all the time so he says. He also was a member of South Essex Koi Club which we both enjoyed having a koi pond ourselves at the time.
Peter was friendly and had many friends, and was always chatty. We would go out and he would recognise people and have a chat, at one point I said, you would make a good councillor as you never stop talking.
He loved his holidays, we travelled a lot from the Far East, Australia, the Mediterranean but he loved going back with me to visit my family back in Manila. He gets so pampered by my mother and gets everything he needs . My brother Jess and his son JM would take turns in driving him around from morning till night wherever he wants to go. My sister Maryann cooks all his favourite food, my brother in law Bob, takes him to his favourite pub/restaurant because there is a day where Elvis rocks the night. and the audiences get to sing. I know he wants to get up and sing but to embarrass. He was welcomed by a group of elite men in the Philippines who were lawyers, managers of banks, a brigadier on an American ship but when they sit on the table with their beers and tapas they are all equal . We were booked to fly December and was looking forward to seeing them again.
I am sad, lonely and I and my stepdaughter together with our grandchildren and friends will miss him so much. He was loved and we will always hold him dear in our hearts and the numerous photos and videos will keep me going till I meet him again. I won’t say goodbye my darling but I hope to see you and hold you again on the other side
