In loving memory of Ann Marie Maltby who sadly passed away on 30th June 2023
Ann Marie, Daughter to George and Joan pronger, sister to brother Micheal, and sister to Linda.
they lived oak road highbrooms tunbridge wells. Then moved to summervale road ramslye estate tunbridge wells. this is where we met, as i was born on the estate, there was a group of us that used to hang around together on the eastate. it was early evening ann was sitting on the steps of the hairdressers ,i said would you go out with me, and she said ok, my heart gave a jump, well that was it she captured my heart. Ann was then 13 and i was 14, Then our hearts blossomed, everyday together.
Well when they found out ann had a boyfriend, Ann,s dad was ok with it, not ann's mum.
So we ignored it as we found each other, so we met outside away from ann's home.
Eventually Ann's mum came round to the fact she could not stop us, Well Ann went to the Weald of Kent School, Tonbridge. We used to meet off the school bus, and then go and spend my winning as i gambled my bus fare every day. Ann was always smoking my fags. never seem to have any.
We shared everything, if i had money i would share with ann, and ann did the same, even then she had a kind heart, Ann used to come on my paper round early morning, I taught ann to fish, first time out she dropped my new fishing reel into the lake, but all forgiven, we used to walk for miles together. We had our ups and downs like any relationship, but looking back they were over petty things.
As life moved on people used to talk behind our backs, that we met to young and that it would'nt last.
I got my first job, and got my first moped, took my test passed, Ann was excited freedom here we come, Ann's dad said be careful, Ann's mum no your not going on the back of that , well we just did our usual things, Ann was furious at her mum. Well 1977 I passed my motorcycle test as by now my bike was a susuki 185 GT , ann was 17yrs old, Ann's mum same record, not this time, Ann said i am going on the back of dave's bike and you will not stop me. well as you can see we are still together, We went everywhere, Well the 21st july 1979, we got married at the registry office, and the party at the kelsey arms , well by now we got a new motorbike Kawasaki 250 cc.
Well we had our honeymoon down winchelsea, we had a static caravan. you shuld have seen us, the panniers on the back bottles of wine, everything was full suitcase strapped to the topbox.
it sounded like a milk float as the bottles clang together.
First night of honeymoon did not go well, got food poisoning. well after that it was a fantastic , we got woken everyday by big footed sea gulls.
Moving along at 20 yrs old, 2nd August 1982 Ann gave birth to our Bob, life got very worrying as bob had a little heart defect at 2mths old he went to guys hospital where he had major surgery, But the strength of our love and his determination for life, he recovered well, Then on the 14th February 1985, our Steven was born.
Another bundle of joy.
Are family now complete, Well we will have to jump a few years, Bob he has done well for himself Electronic Engineer, and married to Faye, they have 4 children, Laney, Lorelai, Jacob, and little Molly moo, Our Steven He has done well he's a qualifyed mechanic, and has 2 children, Leo and Isabella.
Ann worked at the Pembury Pharmacy, for over 20yrs , and probably dealt with most of the people in the village, as Ann dealt with the pill trays,
Ann made many friends as she was very approachable, and helped where she could, she made some very close friends they know who they are.
Then she was struck down with cancer, well my Ann put up a fair fight, for 8 yrs she battled on with it. But My Greatest love, my bestest friend and a fantastic mum and well loved nanny.
But on Friday 30th June 1:06 am I brushed ann's hair held her hand and kissed her on the cheek, and the nurse checked and she was gone.
We would have been married 44yrs on the 21st July, and been together over 50yrs.
I found my true love.

I met Ann on our first day at Weald of Kent, spent 5 years smoking in various hide outs around the school. I remember your engagement party and never doubted it was a for ever thing. Deepest condolences to Dave and the boys and all their family. Will always have the wonderful memories of all the good and maybe not so good things we got up to.❤️
