In loving memory of John McCann who sadly passed away on 12th June 2023.

Born on the 29th September 1958, in Glasgow Scotland, John was the son of the late William “Billy” McCann and Mary McCann (formerly Hegarty).
John is survived by his wife Janet, his son Nicholas, and his wife Molly, his daughter Angela, his 3 Grandsons Luka, Joey and Jack (who affectionately called him Pappa John), his 3 sisters, Rose, Wilma and Kathleen and his brother Alec. Also, his estranged daughter Nadine and her son Justin.

Following a fall, in which he fractured 4 ribs, and a short stay in Kings Mill Hospital, John passed away from respiratory failure, with his wife and children by his side. He left us, far too soon, to join his parents and brother, Hughie – who will have a pint ready for him.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A gathering will take place after the funeral at The Pear Tree Hotel, Ripley, DE5 3HR, for light refreshment.

Lost Chord UK is an innovative charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and well-being of those living with dementia and other complex health needs. By interactive, therapeutic music sessions in both the community and care home setting, they increase the general awareness, self-esteem and overall well-being of everyone who takes part and is present at the sessions.
This is a charity which John supported.

Today is the hardest challenge I have to face yet. But that's you all over, helping me push myself to see what I can do. Thankyou for everything. The good times and the standard father/son disagreements have made me who I am, you've been everything I could ask for and more. Thankyou for being an incredible papa John to our 3 boys. Thank-you for welcoming Molly to the family and being her father in law.
You did so much for evryone and will not be forgot. I'll never stop loving you Dad. I miss you more than anything, I hope you can still see me because I will continue make you proud. Love Nicholas x
