KEITH SOWDEN
Passed away peacefully on Thursday 25th May 2023, aged 69 years.
A much loved Father, Grandfather , brother and Friend to many.
For those who were distant from Keith / dads life or not know much of his life in his younger years .
Keith was born in Hillingdon hospital and being one of five children for Donald and Beatrice , Keith being the eldest .
Keith enjoyed visiting his grandparents in Plymouth in the school holidays and was very close to them.
Keith enrolled in the Royal Navy when leaving school , as Keith would say “ the best years of his life” he loved seeing different places and being proud to be serving in the Royal Navy .
Keith had 5 children who he had a hand in raising from two of his marriages and having 2 children of his own with his late wife Maggie.
When married to Maggie with a house of 6 children , he loved it!
We had always had holidays to Cornwall and going places as a family which dad loved.
In 2002 sadly our mum , Keith’s wife Maggie unfortunately passed away which was devastating for all and he never come to terms of loosing Maggie .
8 years ago Keith’s health unfortunately started to decline due to kidney failure among other illnesses.
Keith’s time in hospital was a tiring time for him and was reluctant for his life to sadly end , as always he put up a good fight and for one am incredibly proud of him for doing.
For me as his eldest daughter, I have so many fond memories with dad but my upmost is when I had my first born Jamie-Leigh and he come into the hospital all dressed up and I had questioned dad about why he was so smartly dressed as he was walking into the hospital room and his reply “ it is my first born biological grandchild “ with the biggest grin as he picked her up and started to talk to her , my heart felt so much warmth and love .
Life will not be the same without him.
