In loving memory of Jilly Jampot Dobb who sadly passed away on 2nd June 2023 age 63 years old.
Jill was born as Cecilia Jill Turner daughter of Edna Mary Turner and Timothy Turner, on the 22nd of April 1960 in Bangor, Northern Ireland.
Jill was the youngest of four children with 2 sisters, Fiona and Penny, and an older brother Nick. Jill attended Glenlola Collegiate prep school and then went on to attend Seely C of E.
Jilly and family moved back over to hucknall in the 1970’s where they lived on Watnall road, and she then attended Annie Holgate comprehensive school. It was in her late teens where she found her love for pool and playing pool with her elder siblings frequently. This led to her starting numerous pool competitions in later years which is where she met the love of her life Tony. Jill was the founder of the Tom Jameson Nottinghamshire pool open.
Jill loved fiercely, she had been married to Tony for 23 years this year. Jill was fortunate enough to have three daughters who she loved dearly, her eldest Kirsty, Bethany her middle child and Caitlin the baby. Jill was also a loving step mother to Amber and was an amazing granny to Hope, Joel and Jacob. Jill loved the Granny title and many other children looked up to her as such.
Jill loved books and was rarely seen without a book in hand. Jill loved baking and feeding the family. Granny and Hope baked together at weekends. Jill loved all animals and made sure to feed the birds premium fat balls. Jill also had a squirrel that came to visit her all the time.
Jill throughout her life loved helping as many people as she could and always looked to involve herself and instigate many charity events within Hucknall. One in particular to mention is the bath run through Hucknall in aid of cystic fibrosis for her late friend Bick.
Jill never took life too seriously and was always up for wearing silly outfits and hats, one of her favourite holidays was Halloween as you’ll see from our photo albums.
Jill was truly a warrior and fought to be with her family for as long as she possibly could and for that we are all forever grateful. She will be missed greatly by all that were lucky enough to have met her, we are confident Jill will live on through memories and the hearts and minds of people she touched. We will continue to talk about her and to her, as we will continue to laugh with her and love her.
