Thinking of you all at such a sad and difficult time. The turnout speaks volumes to what an incredibly special person Dave was to everyone and hope that brings you some comfort and must make you all very proud.

So many great memories of times spent being part of Saturday afternoons football, minibus journeys and hydrating!Always happy, always laughing remembered with fondness.

I have been asked by Jane and her daughters to post the following message as they are not on social media but really wanted to convey their thanks to all who have been in touch and who came out to pay their respects yesterday.

We would just like to say how extremely moved and grateful we are to have had so many of you attend dad’s funeral and wake at the red lion yesterday afternoon. You kept us strong with your wonderful well wishes, stories that made us smile and the beautiful tributes we have read on social media. Thank you all so much for supporting us and all the Copeland family at this sad and difficult time. We were so overwhelmed at how full the church and the pub was, we know dad would have absolutely loved that and been so proud. Jane, Claire, Hannah and Lucy xxx

35 years ago I moved in to the village, I walked in to the Red Lion a complete stranger to be greeted with the words ‘Allright Brother haven’t seen you in here before’ that night was the start of a very special friendship, will miss you mate RIP Jetter xx
