  • In fact the picture was taken in May 2008, not June. Trevor so kindly helped me to get to and from the home where Auntie Rene was living. Afterwards Trevor took me to see the house in Abbey Road, where his Mum Monica was still living at the time. Such a wonderful garden. I was fascinated by the garden as a child, especially the goldfish in a simple pond (I think they were in an old sink, not sure now!), the little statuettes in the garden, and the mysterious brook running along the bottom.

My dear cousin, you are forever associated with magical memories from my childhood. You were such a warm and loving presence, always smiling, always considerate, always kind. I am so sad you have left us. Susan
