So sad reading of Tim’s passing. We were at school together and did our level best to drink the Hayloft dry in the mid 80s. We probably last spoke in the 90s but I only have fond memories of such a great guy who I’m certain will be missed by many.
In loving memory of Timothy James Elliott, who sadly passed away on 6th May 2023 aged 55.
Tim was a sentimental man who always sought happiness within his life. He understood his world through music and loved so deeply. He is survived by wife Heidi, son Charlie, daughters Taggy, Maddy and Dulcie, parents John and Eileen and brother Simon.
Tim was born on 21st November 1967 in Nottingham to John and Eileen Elliott and became the younger brother to Simon Elliott. He spent his childhood in and around Eastwood, developing a passion for cricket and a love for his football team Nottingham Forest. In 1986, Tim moved to Hull to attend university there, where he spent 4 fantastic years surrounded by great friends. He then moved to London to take up a civil service position within the Cancer Team of the Department of Health, whilst house sharing with university friends in Streatham. In 1991, Tim was visiting friends in Bishop's Stortford when he first met Heidi. They were married on the 19th November 1994 and moved to Tooting Bec, where they welcomed their eldest daughter Agatha on March 5th 1996. Shortly before the arrival of their second daughter, Maddy, on 26th October 1998, Heidi and Tim moved to Rochester, where they became members of the Bishop's Sqaure community. In the following years, they welcomed Charlie and Dulcie to the family. Tim loved living in Rochester for many reasons- mainly due to the fact it is home to The Coopers Arms, where he became Quiz Master and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of writing and delivering biweekly quizzes.
Tim remained working for the Cancer Team within the Department of Health until he died- a job which he was truly passionate about and felt proud to hold. His pride was most evident when he was invited to a Buckingham Palace Garden Party for his service to Queen and country and was able to take his mum along to celebrate.
Throughout his life, he established and maintained long lasting friendships with many people- something which brought him so much joy. Above all, Tim was a dedicated family man who, with Heidi, committed his life to building a strong family unit with their children, who brought him the most happiness of all. He will be greatly missed by his family and the wider community.
Immediate family flowers only please. If desired, the family would welcome donations in Tim's memory to the UK's Eating Disorder Charity 'Beat' as seeing his daughter Dulcie's recovery process changed him profoundly. Donations can be made online via this page.
