Major Statham, Philip (30 Apr 1935 - 13 May 2023)

In loving memory of Major Philip Satham who was born on April 30th 1935 and passed away peacefully at home on May 13th 2023 a couple of weeks after his 88th birthday. Philip attended Bickley Hall School before going on to Tonbridge School between 1948-1953. In 1955 he was commissioned into the Royal Artillery were he spent a 38 year career serving his country. He retired on his 58th birthday in 1993 and enjoyed his retirement playing golf, bridge, watching cricket, the theatre, travelling and walking a succession of dogs. He leaves behind his wife Caroline of 52 years, his two sons Charles and Christopher and five grandchildren who all loved him dearly. Caroline supported him in the later years of his service, looked after him in retirement and was with him at the end.
