Peter Joseph Williamson (13 Aug 1936 - 11 May 2023)

In loving memory of Peter Joseph Williamson, Husband, Dad, Grandad, Great Grandad, Father In Law, Brother, Uncle, Volunteer and Friend to many sadly passed away peacefully on 11 May 2023 after a short but brave fight against bowel cancer.

Peter was the son of William Williamson & Maggie Duffy and was born in the small town of Ballybay in County Monaghan. Peter was a writer and author and was very proud to publish his autobiography ‘An Irish Imigrant’ which tells the story of his upbringing and his eventual embarkation to 'the mainland' as part of the mass economic migration of the Irish people in the 1950s.

Peter was a beloved husband to Elaine Williamson (nee Shrigley) for 62 years , Dad to Aaron, Fiona, Louise & Elizabeth, Grandad to Joseph, Charlotte, Colm, Holly, Peader, Thady, Charles, Georgia & Emmet, Great Grandfather to Esmee, Ruby, Lilly, Brooke, Shay, Amber, Amelia-Marie, Chloe, Connor, Emily,Arabella, Ava, Maisie, Paisley and Edith and Father in Law to Dave.

Peter was surrounded by his family during his last few days and was cared for impeccably by the Nightingale McMillan Unit at the Derby Royal Hospital.

Peter has left his family a huge legacy and will be so sadly missed but the family were fortunate to have Peter as the patriarch and have so many amazing memories to cherish.
