In loving memory of Michael Donovan who sadly passed away on 20th April 2023

Mick's family have asked for donations in lieu of flowers to the following charities:-

The Macular Society
In his later years Mick's sight was severely impaired by Age-related macular degeneration (AMD), leaving him unable to read, barely able to watch television and making day to day activities incredibly complicated and time consuming.
There is currently no effective treatment for AMD. The Macular Society sponsors research into the disease as well as providing practical support for those affected by it.

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity
Mick joined the Royal Navy during World War II. He served on several vessels, from the North Atlantic to the Indian Ocean as well as being stationed off the coast of France during the D-Day landings.
As with many of his generation, when he spoke of his Naval service it was with a sense of understatement and self-deprecating humour, playing down any suggestion of heroism or bravery.
The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity provides support for Navy and Marine veterans as well as serving personnel and their families.
