I know it's such a hackneyed phrase but Audrey was one of those really lovely ladies who always seemed terribly posh but was really not. A pioneer in the High Street when it came to independent, quality stores. Her family will no doubt continue with her values and talents.

I have known Mrs Iles since I came to take control of Brompton Pharmacy as one of our regulars, over 20 years ago.
Sweetly coy, charming, pleasant, amusing and lovely dressed at all times. Be it when she turns up to pick her prescriptions, even driving herself in her old age until very recently, she's always very appreciative of everyone.
I wish we could have done more to help her reach a 100 for the Royal birthday card.
Rest in peace Mrs Francis Iles, you'll be sorely missed.
Adieu

Your mother was always so welcoming and charming, encouraging me into the Gallery, when I was a shy child, very interested in the window displays and the treasures within, but with no funds to buy - however, she couldn't have been kinder if I'd been her richest customer! Sincere condolences to all the family, Mary Lee

Having grown up next door to Audrey, I have lasting memories of her great warmth and gentleness. In adulthood I got to experience the pleasure of hearing her fascinating stories and always got a sense of her keen intellect, sense of humour and enduring kindness. We were always touched that she remembered our children on their birthdays, always with a kind gift enclosed.

Remembering Audrey and her serene presence around the gallery. We first met her 35 years ago and whenever we met, she was always interested in what we were all doing, so friendly and very knowledgeable. It is a few years since I last saw her in the Gallery - she was such a great part of the fabric of it. She will always be remembered with great fondness by so many people.

I’ve known Audrey for at least 50 years. She was considered Prospect Row Royalty and always looked so regal when driving her green Mercedes saloon ! She had an aura of wisdom and was always interested in how you were and what you were up to. She possessed a wry sense of humour, always had a twinkle in her eye, and was very good company. She will be missed for a long time to come, in our community.

Bon Voyage, Audrey

From Clive and Karen.
