Our beloved JT left us too soon, on 18th April 2023.
Born on 3rd August 1976 in Zastron in The Free State in South Africa, JT (Johannes Theodorus) lived and studied in Thaba 'Nchu and Bloemfontein. He moved to the UK in 1999 where he had a very successful career as a quantity surveyor, but this job title belied his incredible building and construction skills, his remarkable attention to detail and his renowned flair for interiors. A man who found joy in even the smallest of things, JT made friends easily, attracting others with his sense of fun and his infectious love of life.
JT had a vast group of South African friends in London, and he relished being part of their get togethers. When he met his husband Keith, he was immediately taken into the heart of his large Irish family and their friends, all of whom were charmed by this kind and generous man. JT and Keith married in 2015 and together they had a very happy life in London with many wonderful friends.
Predeceased by his father Daniël in 2000, JT leaves behind his husband Keith, his beloved mother Marie, brother Kwaaitjie and sister Elizna, sister and brother in laws Nancy and Julian, nieces and nephews Dandrich, Edu-Ané, Franco and Daniël, his Irish family Eithne, Seán (deceased) Craig & Suzanne, nieces, nephews and the multitude of family and friends whose lives he has truly enriched.
“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved, we can never lose, for all that we have deeply loved becomes part of us”
