In loving memory of Mick Goddard, who sadly passed away on Sunday 16th April 2023, aged 86.
Born on 10th February 1937 as Brian Thomas Goddard, he was known as Mick. He was married to his wife Terry for 53 years. Mick and Terry had three children, Chris, Nick and Debbie and six grandchildren, Jenny, Callum, Maria, Lauren, Anna and Grace. He was a much loved husband, father, father in law, grandfather, brother, uncle and also a club mate, team mate and colleague to many. Mick was the middle son of three brothers.
Mick played cricket for the Downham & Bellingham Cricket Club for over 50 years, many of these as a committee member, Club Treasurer and finally was a Vice President. He also played football for the club.
After doing his National Service in the Royal Air Force, Mick joined the Westminster Bank, later NatWest, working in many branches across south London before his retirement aged 58.
He lived in Beckenham, Kent, all his married life and until shortly before his death at Westwood House Nursing Home at Westwood Hill, Sydenham.
If you would like to make a donation there are two options for St Christopher's Hospice and CASPA, a charity who provide support for autistic people and their families, long associated with Mick's eldest grandchild Jenny, who is part of their team.
For D&B Members, club ties may be worn, if you would like to.
