I am so sorry but I have only just caught up with the news about Wayne's passing. I wasn't aware he had been ill. I've lost count of the number of times he helped me with the Medway Small Business Awards, providing contacts and ideas for features. I did a long interview with for the special 30th anniversary supplement we did for the 30th anniversary of the dockyard's closure/ launch of the Medway Small Business Awards. Wayne had a great self- deprecating sense of humour and I always felt there was a journalist inside him wait to get out. Very belated condolences to wife Sharon and family. Dear Emma, Laura and Sharon, I am so sorry to hear your news. I hold many happy memories of time spent with your Dad when we were teenagers, always making us laugh and singing along with his own version of the words to the songs we loved to play. I am thinking of you at this time.

We are so sorry to hear the passing of Wayne. From when we became his neighbours in Feb 2021 Wayne was nothing but kind, genuine and welcoming. We would spend hours talking about the area, the wildlife, Family and work. He helped us put our Christmas decorations up by holding the foot of the ladder. We would sweep and cut the front hedges together and worked together to clean the road of snow. The family will miss him and continue to remember the great man he was.

Wayne was one of the most kind, thoughtful and generous men that I’ve ever met. He loved his family more than anything in the world and he would do anything to help friends and colleagues. I am so sad that he’s no longer with us and send all my love and best wishes to his family at this very difficult time.

I’m so deeply saddened to hear the news about Wayne, he was a mentor, a teacher and a friend, who taught me not only how to act in the workplace, but also how to act as a young man going through life, the knowledge and guidance he shared with myself, and everyone he worked with will be a lasting legacy that spreads across lifetimes.

Wayne, our very dear friend and neighbour. Greensands won’t be the same without you. We’ll miss seeing you out on your daily dog walks, will cherish the memories of our girls growing up together, and wish you were still on hand to help dig us out of the snow.

Sharon and Zoe, we’ll always be there to support you with whatever you need. We as a family are so sorry for your loss xxx
