It’s hard to know what to write, how do sum up the impact of a person with mere words?

Uncle Stewart, you were always unapologetically you; honest, genuine and authentic. You got what you saw, and what you saw was what you got. When I was young you’d always play around with us and I dreaded those horse bite tickles! As I got older you always liked to be a bit cheeky and we’re the go to for a bit of banter.

But what I will remember at my core is your quiet caring, genuine kindness, unwavering loyalty and faultless love. I cannot quantify the impact you have had on me but I can say I will keep it in my heart always.

I am so sad that you couldn’t stay longer, but am eternally grateful for the time we had and for the privilege of being able to call a truly great man my Uncle.

I will love and miss you always.

I worked with Stewart for many years, following both our retirements we continued our friendship by fishing and walking together. I consider him to have been a great friend. He was good humoured, understanding and great company. His life experiences provided him with exceptional understanding and experience. He was a loyal friend and most of all he loved his family and will be missed by many including me. Rest in eternal peace my friend. Karl.
