Jim grew up in rural Devon with his mum, Mabel & dad, Richard and brother, Ivor. He was a Telegram Boy and Sunday School teacher during the War years and then joined the Royal Navy at 18 to travel the world. He married Sylvia in 1956 and had 2 children, Bridget & Nick. On leaving the Navy after 22 years service he spent another 22 years working in the pharmaceutical industry before moving up to the East Midlands to be nearer family. He leaves 4 grandchildren, Hannah, Daniel, Dominic & James and 2 great-grandchildren, Kit & Fred. He was a truly selfless & kind gentleman and will be missed immensely
