In loving memory of Jane Conibear

A tribute to dear Jane, loving daughter, niece, cousin, wonderful friend and colleague.

Jane passed away peacefully on 5th March 2023 at Fairhavens hospice, Southend. Despite being challenged by severe ill health throughout her adult life Jane always remained positive, pushed on and never complained. She truly had joie de vivre, which was reflected in her love of bright colours and her overarching zest for life.

Jane was a deeply spiritual and altruistic human being, she always saw the best in people, she had a gentle wisdom and understanding and it was natural to her to help others.

Jane’s career demonstrated her ability to practice this, she was an excellent Art psychotherapist, always improving her practice with courses and providing the highest standard of therapy and care possible to the children, adolescents and adults she helped.

There is no doubt that Jane’s passing leaves a big void in our lives. She would want us to follow her example of living a life of colour filled with kindness, joyful ness, patience, friendship and love.

These are Jane’s own words:

I am grateful to listen to the birds
I am grateful to feel the soft breeze
I am grateful for the sunlight
I am grateful to see a wide expanse of blue sky
I am so grateful to see and sense dog roses, it makes my heart and spirit sing……

-- Jane's Celebration of Life --

Jane’s Celebration of life service will be held at Sara’s Tea Gardens on 22nd April, 3-5pm, Old Leigh on Sea village. Elaine Ford, Pagan Celebrant, will be leading the celebration. A link to the Tea Gardens site is available to the right of this page.

We hope all Jane’s friends and family will join together to celebrate her life. Jane loved her colours so come in your brightest!

Please let me have your memories of Jane as we would like to include them in the Celebration. Afternoon tea will be provided.

Thought it would be good to have links from the music at Janes Celebration of life here. The celebrant, Elaine, had difficulty playing db’s Wild is the Wind, it refused to play, so Jane’s music therapist, Maria, received a request to sing some of it, which she did!
These are links to You Tube – so it will probably mean clicking – the ‘skip ad’ button.
May you be well and happy – Alistair x

Jane’s family would like to thank everyone who attended her Celebration of life at Saras tea Gardens yesterday. It was perfect for her.
A huge thank you to Elaine our Celebrant who went over and above to make the occasion very special and completely captured Jane’s essence, spirituality and kindness, I think we’d all agree that Jane would’ve loved it.
Thank you Alistair for all your help with the playlist and more, plus stepping up as Elaine’s assistant for the blessing.
Big thanks to Sara’s tea gardens for enabling us to hold the celebration at their beautiful cafe, a favourite spot of Jane’s to visit on her regular walks. Thank you to all the staff, you were brilliant!
And a big thank you to Maria, Jane’s sound healer, your care during her final weeks was so much appreciated, as was your beautiful voice yesterday when you stepped up to sing Wild is the wind, a magic moment, thank goodness for technical hitches….
And finally thank you all for being such wonderful friends to Jane xx

Jane had a unique and wonderful way of seeing the world. She had the kindest heart and the quirkiest sense of humour, and that meant time spent with her was always a joyful experience. I will miss her, but always think of her smiling ❤️

Just a heads up re parking tomorrow, I’m sure many attending know Leigh old village better than me but parking is limited and very busy on a Saturday so I would give yourselves plenty of time to find a parking space.

Jane was a lovely lady. Her ability to care and support others despite her own considerable health problems was
amazing. I was grateful for her kindness to me during my husband long illnesses.
