In loving memory of Jeanette Taylor who sadly passed away on the 7th March 2023, peacefully at Langley Lodge Nursing home, where she had been for just over two weeks, following a brief stay in hospital.
Jeanette had remained at home where she had lived for over 60 years, in the comfort of her familiar surroundings while fighting Parkinson’s and the effects of a stroke.
She leaves behind her daughter Joanne, but is now reunited with her husband David, her brother Ian who were lost far too early.
Jeanette had a full life, enjoying several passions, including the Historical Society, where she made some very special friends.
Animals were a prominent part of her life, especially many Corgis who she adored. Her final friend was Garfield the cat who was kindly adopted by a friend.
Rest in peace mum, you will be in our hearts always. xxx

I spent many years with Jeanette including every day she spent in Langley Lodge until the day she passed away. A promise was made to her that I would be there for her whenever she wanted and she was always thankful for the time spent. We had many laughs and eventually calling me 'Her Housekeeper'. Jeanette always liked to look tidy and as smart as possible even when she wasn't going anywhere. She knew what she liked and what she wanted and spent many a time talking of David her husband and Joanne her daughter including the many adventures she went on and those she cared about. Her cat and friend Garfield was her companion through thick and thin. On occasions we went to her favourite supermarket Waitrose and be up and down the isles many times and commenting on my driving skills with the wheelchair. She enjoyed having reflexology with feet and leg massage and having her hands and nails cared for and very particular with the style of her hair and its upkeep. A lovely lady who was very knowledgeable until her further decline in health. Lots of love to you Jeanette and may you always watch over everyone who means the world to you. xxx

Sending hugs to you Jo. Although I haven’t spent much time with “my posh aunt” lately not that she liked being called aunty. She has always been in my thoughts especially since losing dad. I hope they can meet up with Nan and David just as they always used to on earth

Jeanette has been significant to each of us over more than 60 years. Chris admired the well-dressed young woman at the bus stop while he was still wearing school uniform. He was also grateful for a bacon breakfast she gave him, the boy labourer for David's brothers.
As Joanne's mother and part of the parent body at both Holt Farm and King Edmund Schools, Jeanette figured in our lives over all the events and milestones of the 70s and 80s.
After David's death Jeanette became a supportive and calming assistant in the English and Geography Departments. Out of school we enjoyed exploring interesting places together - we have particular memories of her on the roof of the Duomo in Milan.
Jeanette was an invaluable companion on weekend photography expeditions to record listed buildings. She enjoyed the treasure hunt element, was fearless of strange dogs, and engaged strangers socially so that they cooperated with the photography.
Jeanette's last years meant a decline in her physical abilities although she enjoyed outings to Southwold and to Hyde Hall. Especially the luncheons and conversations with friends! Her fashion sense made her a valued advisor on choices of outfit for special occasions. We miss her but the garments still bring her memory alive.
