Our beloved son and brother, Owen Eccles, suddenly and sadly passed away on 5th March 2023. He developed a DVT, which unfortunately caused a cardiac arrest. He had just celebrated his 20th birthday.

As a family we are getting great comfort from the many messages we have received from family, and in particular many of Owen's friends, some of whom we have never met, but one thing resonates with everyone who knew Owen - he was kind, he was funny and above all he had a deep sense of humanity.

Owen was known to many of his friends as Casey and we would appreciate everyone's respectfulness of this. This was a big part of their life, and it gives lots of comfort to know that they had provided so much love and support to friends around the globe.

The service will be a celebration of Owen's life. Although there is no dress code, Owen loved to paint his fingernails in vibrant colours, so if you feel you want to do that, please do!

We have decided that we do not want flowers, but continuing Owen's humanitarian outlook, and if you would like to, all donations received will go to Devizes Opendoors, who do fabulous work in looking after homeless and less fortunate people in Devizes and the surrounding areas. Please see the link above, or donations can be made on the day, or directly to A P McDonald Funeral Directors, Devizes.

The funeral service is to be held at West Wiltshire Crematorium, Semington, Wiltshire, BA14 6HL on Thursday 13th April at 2pm and afterwards at The Hour Glass, Horton Avenue, Devizes, SN10 2RH. Everyone is welcome. For those who are unable to attend in person, there will be a live webcast. Please contact Sue for log in details.

Much love,

Sue, Stephen, Victoria and Morrison

Because we knew you, let each of us take your strengths and honour you by committing to living a life in which we offer support to those in need. Let us do so in your memory, with gratitude that each of us may have the gift of time that was denied you. With thanks to Euan Graham.
