In loving memory of Paul Costello who sadly passed away on 8th March 2023

Paul was a loving and loyal partner to Sue and devoted dad to Joe and Jake. He was a much loved son of Kath and Dennis and brother to Stephen, Josephine, David, Peter and Denise. He had a large extended family consisting of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces too many to mention.

Although Paul was born, raised and lived all his life in Rotherham he liked to travel. He had holidays and adventures in Australia, America, The Caribbean and many places in Europe. He enjoyed the East Coast of England and he and Sue spent many weekends away there and holidays with Joe and Jake when they were small. During his working life he had the opportunity to travel and work all over England.

Paul loved to work. He started at age 12 as a paper boy then moved onto the the milk round. He was always independent and liked to earn his own money. After leaving school he gained an apprenticeship and became a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter. After becoming redundant he had the opportunity to work as a suspended ceiling fitter until he finally moved into the construction industry as a cladder.

Paul enjoyed the social aspect of working too, he loved the camaraderie, the banter and the laughs. He made many good friends along the way. When working away he always came back with many stories about the interesting people he had met and the horror stories of some of the accommodation that he had stayed in, it was all part of the fun. Although he loved it he was always happy to get back to his home comforts at the weekend.

When not working Paul liked to socialise, he was never happier than in a pub or Bradgate club, pint in hand chatting and laughing with friends or work mates. However, he was equally happy at home, feet up watching tele with a glass or two of red wine.

Paul was a decent and honest man and I am sure that very many people will have happy, loving and enduring memories of a life well lived. Although we will miss him we will always remember the happy times and the impact that his life made on our own.

Rest in Peace Paul. We love you.

Coz, you were more than a friend to me, I’ve known you all my life and was always there for me whether I needed a favour or just someone to chat to. Some of the adventures we went on together were absolutely epic. You were not only my friend but much much more than that. I will never forget you. R. I.P.
