I lit a candle for you tonight
It danced and flickered in the dark of night.
I felt your smile as though you were here
But it did not stop that solitary tear.
If only I could see your face
And hear your voice in this now empty space.
A broken heart is hard to mend
But I am lucky to have had such a beautiful friend.
In time I will learn to be strong and move on
But in my heart your memories will always live on.
God bless you Roy, sleep tight.

What a beautiful send off to a lovely man.
I didn't know him that well, as I recently helped him get a job at Wollaton hall.
Only knowing him for a short time was enough to know that he was a kind, generous likeable man.
I only wish I could have helped him in some way.
My sincere condolences to all of Roy's family. X
