In loving memory of Terence Mapley who sadly passed away on 4th March 2023.
Terry was a family man and was devoted to his beloved wife Pam. They were married for 61 years and had two children Karen and Stephen. Friends and family would comment on how well Pam looked after Terry, and continued to do so until Terry sadly passed away. He always had a stash of goodies next to his chair, which he would munch whilst watching his favourite TV programmes such as Last of the Summer Wine and Heartbeat.
He was a great father, grandfather and great grandfather. Using his very creative skills to make them castles, zoos, circuses and farms, some of these are still played with today by his great grandchildren.
Terry and Pam loved gardening and had a beautiful garden, admired by many. They also enjoyed visiting Stately Homes and other people's gardens.
As a young man he completed his Shipwright Apprenticeship, on family trips up the Thames he would point out a tug he remembered. He later made wrought iron gates, which can still be seen at Eltham Palace and The French Hospital, La Providence in Rochester to name a few.
Sadly, after suffering for a number of years from COPD and Prostate Cancer, Terry could no longer put up a fight and passed away surrounded by his close family. We are all heartbroken that he had to leave us, but hope he is a peace and reunited with his parents, brothers, children and his wife's parents.
