In loving memory of our wonderful father, grand father and my best friend Derek Thomas Oliver who sadly passed away on 4th March 2023 aged 79 following a short illness.
Derek was born to Evie and Thomas on 19th May 1943. He was a skilled engineer and spent most of his working life as a shoe designer at Bata Shoe Company. He had a passion for football and followed Southend United from a young age, his first match was v Norwich City the first ever match at Roots hall on 20 August 1955.
He leaves behind Sonia, Lee and Grandson Jake who will all miss him immensely.

The funeral details are as follows, there is no dress code and the wake will be at the RNA club on East Street, Southend. I hope you can join us.

I was there at their wedding and now at their death. So sorry to lose my only cousin/ big brother. We grew up together threw our marriages with our children becoming so close and they still are 50 years later. Derek you have left such a void in my heart no one will ever fill it . Beverley xx
