Jean Watson Time line and life Events – not necessarily in the correct order
• Born Georgina Cosburn, London, 13th May 1932
• Evacuated 1st Time, Market Harborough without her mum. Found herself at seven years of age alone. Ernie in Hospital with appendicitis
• Then collected by her mum and moved to Hethersett, taken in by the neighbours of Hilda, dad’s sister. Stayed there for 2 or 3 years.
• Moved to Shoebury around 11 years old. 1943 ish.
• Sat and passed 11+ and went to Southend high school for Girls.
• Made three friendships that would span her lifetime. Barbara, Midge, Dot
• Dad injured in military service and hospitalised in Liverpool. So at 12 mum was looking after Jen allowing her mum and Ernie to travel for hospital vists.
• Jen’s death 21st March 1952
• Moved into the Southend area
• Worked for Bank of England
• Married George Palmer, York Rd, Southend, 19th Dec 1953
• Gave birth to Jon, Rockford Hospital, 25th Sept 1959
• Gave birth to Bryan, Home,29th March 1961
• Gave birth to David at home, 21th April 1962, 13 Prittlewell Street.
• Moved to The Grove, 21 at first and then 26
• Brought up three children, through the 1960’s & 70’s
• Worked in a Grocery Store and then for Access Credit card company
• Divorced George, 19th Jan 1981
• Married Albert, 27th March 1983
• Became a Grandmother to seven grandchildren eventually, Beth, Ellie, Madi, Tom, Aimee, Sebastian, Lucy
• Alberts Death
• Celebrated her 90th Birthday with family at Dave’s house. May 2022
• Moved out of 26th The Grove after over 60 years, and into respite care at Abbeyfield St Georges House. December 2022.
• Taken into Hospital for the last time on the Morning of Saturday 4th February 2023
• Passed away just before midnight.
