In loving memory of Audrey Edna Utton who sadly passed away on 17th February 2023
A loving Wife, Mother, Nana, and 'GG'
'An elegant Lady'; 'Always looked smart'; 'A fun loving and proud Mum and Nana'
After the war, Roy returned to Sun Engraving in Holborn to continue his apprenticeship where they met. Audrey worked in Martins and NatWest bank (which she referred to it as her club!); and they did most of their courting along the Thames Embankment!
Born in Bethnal Green, Audrey was the youngest of four children and celebrated her 21st birthday at The Ritz, with her elder sister Peggy and married the next day, joining the 'Utton Clan' of which she was the last survivor!
Audrey missed Roy, a loving partnership which lasted over 70 years! who sadly passed away 2 years ago.
Now they are together again.
A true family-oriented mum through and through, a great support to Roy and their extended family, grandsons, their families, and great grandchildren. Always ready with lunch, dinner, and cakes!
During their life, they supported their family in so many positive ways and finally lived out their later years in Trottiscliffe, and fully embracing 'village life'. A lover of classical music, the radio was always on 'Classic FM' and the TV playing Andre Rieu!
A regular member of the 'ladies who lunch' and loved a coffee in The Plough or The George.
She will be sorely missed by everyone whose life she touched.
Audrey, mummy, nana, GG - we will miss you.
In Sophie's words, one of her great granddaughters "Is GG having tea with the Queen now?"
