In loving memory of Dennis Francis Millard who sadly passed away on 10th February 2023

Jo and David Richards donated in memory of Dennis

With fondest memories of working with Dennis for over 30 years. Lots and lots of laughs, drunken lunches and dinners and cheers to the only man in the world who could have persuaded me to play a Swedish clairvoyant at a murder mystery weekend. Love from David too. You were one of a kind Den - it was a privilege to know you.

I first met Dennis when I was 18 and we were planning to go to New Zealand. Dennis met Linda and I went to NZ on my own. I returned two years later and there was Dennis on the Dockside waiting for me. I will miss him dearly.

I first met Dennis in 1971 for a Guiness and Sausage in Leadenhall Market . This was where we would settle the deals we had done together and exchange cheques for bearer bonds for our respective banks. That was how it was done in those days. We have been good friends ever since and briefly worked together through good times and difficult times, but mostly happy times.
Dennis was always good humoured and supportive and good company, so much so that I had every confidence that when our daughter sought an internship to get work experience, I knew that she would be in safe hands with Dennis and would enjoy the experience. She did.

Now, released from increasing frailty, sleep well Dennis. We will miss you.

Roger and Christine

  • As I’m Roger & Christine’s daughter, I was the 15 year old who benefitted from Dennis’s patience and kindness, and from a genuine opportunity to learn a little more about the world of work that ultimately did help shape the career I’ve gone on to have in publishing. I knew Dennis best in his role as ad sales supremo for Euroweek, and even as a very green youngster I could see he was great at his job. Not because he knew any of the hard sales techniques, but because he cared about his clients, he made time to chat with them, knew the names of their significant family members and stayed on the line even if they weren’t booking an ad that time around. It made an impression on me then that has lasted ever since. Show a genuine and sincere interest in people, and it tends to pay back. Thank you Dennis, you’ll be missed xx

What a wonderful friend you were to myself and Winnie. We were so lucky to meet you and Sandy in Sri Lanka over 20 years ago. Since then what laughs we have had, what meals and drink eaten and your wonderful company as hosts.
Miss you badly.
