When people remember Moira they almost always mention her humour, her positivity, and her warmth, all of which continued to shine brightly despite challenges such as her long illness. Recently friends would come away from a chat with Moira not depressed by her circumstances, but feeling better themselves for having spoken with her.
Moira had a genuine and deep love of and interest in people. Moira made long-lasting close friends at all stages of life and from all walks of life. One of her friends said recently that if Moira rang you then you had to get a cup of tea and prepare for 90 minutes of conversation: but the conversation would always be deeply valued. Moira had a huge amount of time for people, she loved hearing about her friends and their lives. She delighted in hearing about her friends’ successes and good times.
Moira had an immense love of her family. Moira delighted in and was so proud of her four children: she loved her children to bits and devoted her life to their upbringing, and it is devastating that such a wonderful mother has been taken away from them so early.
Moira had a strong Catholic faith. She was a much stronger and braver character than she gave herself credit for, and her faith was a key part of that.
The family has been blessed with many lovely messages about Moira since she was taken from us so suddenly. “A wonderful and an inspirational lady - an absolute delight to speak to and share stories with.” “What a character she was, always so funny and happy and kind.” “We shall miss her beautiful smile, her cheery disposition and laugh”.
Moira was beautiful outside and inside: gentle, generous, caring, considerate, very sweet-natured, always with a friendly smile for everyone. As a friend of Moira’s has said: “we are all so blessed to have had Moira in our lives”.
