In loving memory of Philip Arthur Dooley who sadly passed away on 7th February 2023
After the service there will be refreshments and a chance to celebrate Philip's life at The Wollaton Pub and Kitchen on the corner of Wollaton Road and Lambourne Drive.
Philip was born in Beeston Nottingham on 23rd March 1951 to Annie (Nancy) and Arthur Dooley and has a younger sister Maureen. The family moved to Longdon Close, Bramcote, where he grew up attending the Grammar school before beginning work for the Inland Revenue. He moved to the Dudley office when he was promoted and remained there until he got married to Wendy in 1978. After a brief time in the Leicester tax office he moved into the private sector and then to the University of Nottingham as the VAT officer until his retirement.
Philip and Wendy's only son, Richard, was born in 1989 and together they enjoyed holidays on the canals, in Cornwall, the Lake District and France. In later years Philip and Wendy enjoyed cottage holidays in the British countryside and meeting up with friends for city breaks.
Philip and Richard had a mutual interest in computers and enjoyed troubleshooting problems and helping family and friends. Philip also enjoyed red wine, going out for family meals, meeting up with friends, Planet Rock and Friday nights at the Carpenter's Arms.
