Rita's sister wrote...
> Rita was the matriarch of our family and thought the world of us all.
> She gave love in abundance and was always pleased to see us.
> In our early years she cared for us like a mother (being 20 years older than me) and took us on Sunday afternoon picnics with Peter & Brian where we would have great fun playing cricket, rounders and picking blackberries. If we were good, we called at a pub on the way home for a packet of crisps and bottle of pop!
> Family meant everything to Rita, always putting family first in her life and she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She remembered all our family birthdays and sent over 100 Christmas cards in 2022!
> Her secretarial skills meant she had been organised and methodical at keeping her records for years and years; she made lists for everything and always kept her finances in order. This stood her in good stead when she had to care for Brian and later years Arthur.
> Her knowledge was amazing especially medical and her recall of dates, facts and events kept us entertained on many occasions.
> She was always very independent and cooked her own food right to the end, often from veg she had frozen from John’s/Philip’s garden. No food was ever thrown away! You were always offered a cup of tea and something to eat when calling by and she could rustle up a meal from nowhere!
> She loved royalty, especially the Queen and we likened her looks to the Queen.
> She has been such a big part of our lives and we are going to miss her so much, but it’s now time for a rest Rita and you can meet your beloved Arthur & Brian. We will always remember everything you have done for us and our families over many generations.
