In loving memory of Maurice Headland who sadly passed away on 8th January 2023. The dearly loved husband of the late Zoё and partner of the late Nancy, leaves behind two much loved children; his son Dean and his daughter Alison, his daughter-in-law Joanne and his daughter's partner Mark, his only grand-daughter Amelia, Clare the respected daughter of Nancy and her children Emma and Jack.
Maurice was best known for his love of singing with The South Yorkshire Police Male Voice Choir, something he was a part of for an amazing 60 years as the First Tenor. He worked at several places during his life most notably as a Transport and Office Manager at British Ropes and as a Department of Transport Area Manager at East Riding of Yorkshire Council. He was a very active man even in retirement spending 10 years at 'Save The Children' in Doncaster where he became Treasurer, and as a Chairman for both Probus and Unison.
Maurice was a very organised and meticulous man who liked everything to be 'just so'. He was a creature of habit and had many routines that he liked to follow including his regular attendance at church, weekly meals out at his favourite pub, scheduled housework and shopping trips and also doing his own personal book-keeping which he continued with right to the very end. Even when his health was failing him, Maurice still liked everything to run like clockwork and left clear instructions for his funeral arrangements. His wishes have been followed as closely as possible.
