John was one of the most supportive individuals I have known. He helped me hugely at the beginning of my career and remained a friend to this day. A true professional and selfless gentleman.

John was such a kind and caring man. I know he will be sorely missed by Jenny and all the family. I have very fond memories of play dates round their house as a child and camping in their beautiful garden with Jenny. The family are so very much in our thoughts at this sad time. Love Andrea, James and family xx

My role model, you kept every promise and never once let me down. You fixed everything mummy couldn’t (let’s be fair she is pretty rubbish at DIY). You told the very best make up stories, you made every moment an adventure and because of you I know I can achieve anything. Love Morgan xxx

John was such a lovely man. I have so many good memories from when Jenny and I were young. He always made us laugh even if we were in trouble! We had such great times in the garden, which he kept immaculate, even if he did try to throw me over the hedge a few times ☺️

Thinking of you all at this sad time xxx

Jon Howl, David Howl's son, sent me this photo (from around 1977 I guess) that he found when clearing the farm out.

Val and family. So very sorry to hear this news about John. John was my first boss at Rover in 1990. He was a great mentor, a calm annd kind man who has maintained some very special memories for over 30-years. I was glad to have caught up with John and you Val in 2019 (CD player purchase 😬).

All the very best to you during this difficult time.

John made a difference to many of us at work as he did to you all at home.

Best wishes

Adrian
