Hasmukhbhai Ambalal Patel (20 Jan 1952 - 26 Dec 2022)

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mr Hasmukhbhai Patel, known by many as Harry, announce his passing on Monday 26th December 2022, after a long battle with COPD and latterly, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

His contribution to the community in Arnold, Nottingham, was primarily felt during the time he was a shopkeeper, but he retained and cherished life-long relationships with friends in the area thereafter. Prior to settling in Nottinghamshire, he had lived in Staffordshire and Leicestershire, as well as spending long stints in Hamburg, Germany and Lira, Uganda earlier in his life, having left India shortly after he finished school.
 
Mr Patel is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mrs Mina Patel, their four children; Yatin, Dipali, Bindiya and Chirag, along with son-in-law Tom, and grandson, Jaiden. Mr Patel is also survived by two sisters and one brother, Kumud, Ranjan, Mahendra and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

His kind nature and fighting spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with. A cremation service will take place at Bramcote Crematorium, Coventry Lane, Bramcote, Nottingham NG9 3GJ, on Saturday 14th January 2023, at 1 p.m. The family kindly request that no flowers are purchased and instead, any donations are made to Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis in Mr Patel’s memory, a charity now close to their hearts.
