  • Hi Stan, would be great to talk to you direct regarding the family as myself and Tom are unsure on that side of the family, thank you for the donation and kind words, regards, Lorna (stephens daughter)

  • Hello Lorna I'm sorry I have only just seen your message today. My mother Ada and Stephen's father Stanley, were brother and sister. Stanley was the youngest of the Haighs and my mother the youngest sister. Incidentally my mother insisted that I was NOT named after my Uncle Stanley. Martyn (Stephen's eldest brother) and I were in the same year at school and we used to live at the top end of Rastrick - me in Slade Lane and the Haighs in Delf Place nearby. I think Stephen was born while they lived in Rastrick and before they moved to live in Brighouse in Lee Street - but I may be wrong. I think all three Brothers Martyn, Richard and Stephen went to Rastrick Grammar School and their sister Patricia went to Brighouse Girls Grammar School. Send me an emai to stan_holroyd at yahoo.co.uk and we can talk further. I apologise again for not replying sooner, and for not attending your father's funeral - I live in Brora in the far north of Scotland. best wishes, Stan
