I was so very sad to hear about Dougie’s passing. I walked Huntley park with him and our dogs for many years. Dougie was such a smart guy, very funny, interested in me and my family. He will be much missed. It’s true, the good do die young. See you over the bridge Dougie.

To my team mate, my opponent, my mechanic, my aspiration, my best man, my big brother.

Growing up with you had its kicks and bruises as brothers do. But being my brother was the best thing about it. You taught me so much from football to how not be a referee, from beer to bending tetanus needles with your butt
You were always there for me no matter what it was for.

You are gone but you will never ever be forgotten. Sleep tight

My big burra, My Immortal

Love you loads Douglas

So sorry to hear the very sad news about Dougie we met dog walking at Huntly Park my son John and i and our German Shepherd Ella he was one of the nicest people we met there so down to earth and unpretentious we always loved talking to him while the dogs played
He put up such a brave fight against his illness and was always good humoured and upbeat
We will miss seeing him and chatting to him in Huntly
So saddened to hear he lost his fight ❤️

I am writing this as a friend of Dougie’s. Anyone who knew him would say the same; a genuine, decent, hard working and honest man. A person who cared for others and looked after his family. I have rarely met such a decent person in my entire life and feel privileged to have known Douglas. RIP mate. This world wasn’t good enough for you.
