In loving memory of our much loved wife, sister, mother, and grandmother Sue Jardine, who sadly passed away on 19th December 2022. As you will know, Sue had battled with health issues over a number of years but always retained her youthful, positive outlook.
Sue was a keen, and successful, sportswoman both in tennis and golf. She was Chairman and Lady Captain at Bearsted Tennis Club and Lady Captain at Bearsted Golf Club. She loved spending time with her family and was extremely proud of her six grandchildren, all of whom live locally so she was able to see them all regularly and be fully involved in their lives growing up - often as a Granny taxi!
All are welcome to join us at St Mary's church, West Malling, for Sue's funeral, details as set out on this page. There will then be a private, family committal at Vinters Crematorium. Please then join us at Bearsted Golf Club (Ware Street, Bearsted, ME14 4PQ) at 2.30pm for refreshment.
There is no formal dress code for the funeral, although please add a splash of colour or a touch of glamour!
We request family-only flowers, for which please contact Bek and Jen at www.bloominggreenflowers.co.uk (01622 298676). Otherwise, any donations can be made via this page to Macmillan and/or to Heart Valve Voice.
Sue was a great supporter of Macmillan during her lifetime, getting involved in their fund-raising coffee mornings and making use of their services herself in recent months whilst recovering from her second bout of cancer. She was also extremely active over the last decade in her support of Heart Valve Voice, with which she became involved following her heart valve replacement surgery. She worked with the CEO, Will Woan, together with her heart consultant Professor Simon Redwood, to promote awareness of heart valve disease and of the, then brand new, TAVI procedure, which can in particular help those who are unsuitable for traditional surgery. She spoke at the inaugural Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day, which has now become a global event with many charities involved. There are some photographs of her involvement on this page.
